Guten Tag, meine Freunden.
I wonder if I could write an entire post in German. It would probably take me hours. :)
I just got back from another trip to Waukon. Parent-teacher conferences today. I just went for a couple hours to observe. It was good times. Only four people came in two hours, but I spent the rest of the time discussing teaching strategies and unit plans with my teacher, so it was time well spent. It's beginning to sound like I will be able to design and teach the bulk of a two week unit on World War II for the second period class. I got a copy of the textbook so I can do some planning over spring break.
I had my first medieval history test this morning. I've done all the readings and been to all the classes, but I didn't even look at the study guide until last night, and then I was a bit disappointed when I realized I would actually have to study. I can usually wing it for Slind's exams, but not this time. I have a hard time keeping all fifty bazillion Roman emperors straight in my head. But I think it went well. I'd studied for two out of three essay questions, and I got lucky on the dates.
Still no word on the Woodrow Wilson paper. It'll get done, I promise.
Aside from all that boring academic stuff, it seems to me that the last three weeks or so have been more enjoyable than I would have expected. I don't know what it is exactly that's made it so great, but it's just been really great. So, thanks, friends, for making my life happy.
