I've decided to cave in and update my blog, even though I would have much enjoyed further infuriating the anonymous heckler who left yesterday's comment. But alas, I have things to say and time to spare. Mostly I just don't want to do anything else.
Where to begin...
First off, I had a really great weekend. One of those weekends that was so wonderful that, ironically, it passed far to quickly to be completely satisfying. Friday night's bowling alley party was probably the most fun I've had in a long while.
Saturday I was productive. Not as productive as I could have been, but productive nonetheless. And it was good I was productive on Saturday because Sunday simply exhausted me. I thought 6:30 was too early, but it turns out 5:30 is much worse. Then the absence of a nap pretty much pushed me over the edge.
In an attempt to stay awake, I went for a long walk last night, which was enjoyable, but I woke up this morning (at 6:30) a bit sore. Then this afternoon we worked out for wellness class, and now I'm just finding it difficult to move.
Spent this evening in the library, tutoring German (rather badly, I think - I'm getting very rusty) and planning Friday's project for my high schoolers. I have a paper due next Tuesday, which I've been conveniently ignoring. It's a situation akin to the Woodrow Wilson scenario of several weeks ago. Except a lot less has been written about Pope Sylvester II than was about Wilson. Happily, I met with success tonight when I was able to add another book on medieval Spain, two on medieval philosophy, and two on early modern science to my stack of sources. I am hopeful that I will be able to sufficiently stretch my topic so as to fill 12 pages.
There are definitely things that must be done. I'll leave you now. I'm going to muster my energy. I'm going to get up. And I'm going to go sit somewhere and think as little as possible.
